A helmet for Nathaniel

We would like to tell you the story of our little boy so that you can understand why we started this fundraising.

Nathaniel was born on 5th of October 2023. During the birth, a minor complication related to my heart occurred, which was in great danger of stopping during the delivery, so they did not let me push through on my own and they helped me with forceps. Unfortunately, the result was that our little boy's shoulder and neck muscles were pulled.

Around December, we noticed that he only likes to sleep on his right side. So, after research we went to a DSGM specialist, who found that both sides are very stiff, but the left one is worse, and that it hurts Nathaniel to be on his left side. So we started rehabilitation and the situation improved a lot, but unfortunately it was too late, as the right side of his head became completely flat.

So we went to a private clinic (Ahead4Babies) who make special helmets. Then they examined our little boy for free and established that he has plagiocephaly-moderate asymmetry with forehead asymmetry . The normal difference between the diagonals is 0-3 mm, and Nathaniel's is 1.4 cm, and his ears are not symmetrical either. If we don't fix this, then unfortunately it will later deform his jaw.

We just want our little boy to grow up in such a way that he doesn't have to be ashamed of the shape of his head and that the other children won't bully him at kindergarten, school...
