Frequently Asked Questions

How can we help?

Charities play an important role in ensuring robust safeguarding policies which everyone understands and uses are in place. All staff at Tree of Hope have regular safeguarding training, making sure everyone knows how to identify and report a concern or incident. Tree of Hope work together with other relevant agencies and co-ordinate and ensure the effectiveness of work to protect and promote the welfare of the children we support, including making arrangements to identify and support children at risk of harm.

DBS stands for Disclosure and Barring Service. DBS checks are essential in health and social care and ensure that service users are given a safe level of high-quality care from trusted individuals. An Enhanced DBS is a way for Tree of Hope to check an individuals criminal records, to help families have complete confidence in their therapist/supplier and helps to decide if a therapist/supplier is a suitable person to work with to support their child.

It is good practice for therapy providers to have this in place and proves their credibility as a professional working with vulnerable children and is therefore a fundamental requirement Tree of Hope requires for any therapists/healthcare professionals working directly with a child we support.

Should an individual request support to get an enhanced DBS check, Tree of Hope can help with this.
