Supporting Jessie’s Journey
We are fundraising for Jessie's specialist disability buggy
Meet Jessie, my beautiful, funny, and determined six-year-old daughter. Jessie faces challenges every day that most children her age never have to think about. She has Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, Tourette syndrome, severe fatigue, sleep difficulties, and ongoing medical concerns that affect her mobility, energy levels, and ability to take part in everyday family activities.
Although Jessie is a bright and loving little girl who wants to explore the world like other children, her disabilities often make this incredibly difficult. She becomes exhausted very quickly, struggles to walk long distances, and can experience periods of overwhelming fatigue that leave her unable to continue without support. Due to her additional needs, she can also be vulnerable to safety risks when out in busy environments, making it difficult for our family to enjoy simple outings together.
As Jessie grows older, carrying her is no longer possible. She is nearly seven years old, and her physical needs have increased significantly. Without specialist equipment, even short journeys can become distressing and exhausting for her, often resulting in pain, fatigue, and lengthy recovery periods afterwards.
We are fundraising for a specialist disability buggy that will provide Jessie with the support, comfort, and safety she desperately needs. This buggy would allow her to conserve energy, participate in family activities, attend appointments, enjoy days out, and access her community without becoming overwhelmed or physically exhausted. It would also provide a safe space when she is struggling with sensory overload, fatigue, or emotional regulation.
For our family, this equipment would be life-changing. It would help Jessie maintain her independence while ensuring she can continue to experience childhood adventures alongside her siblings and friends. It would also reduce the physical strain on me as a parent, as I can no longer safely carry her when she becomes too tired to walk.
Every donation, no matter how small, will bring us one step closer to giving Jessie the specialist support she needs. Your kindness will help improve her quality of life, increase her access to the world around her, and allow her to take part in experiences that many families take for granted.
Thank you for taking the time to read Jessie’s story and for helping us give her the comfort, safety, and freedom she deserves.
