Oliver's Story

We are fundraising for orthotics.

I am raising funds to help provide medically prescribed orthotic splints for my son Oliver, who has Cerebral Palsy. These splints, provided through London Orthotics, are an important part of his ongoing clinical management plan.

Oliver’s Cerebral Palsy affects his muscle tone, motor control, and lower limb alignment, which can lead to challenges such as spasticity, joint instability, and abnormal gait patterns. The recommended splints are designed to support optimal biomechanical alignment, improve joint positioning and help manage muscle tightness by providing controlled, sustained positioning of the affected limbs.

By improving foot and ankle alignment and offering structured support during standing and walking activities, these orthoses can help reduce the risk of developing secondary complications such as contractures, joint deformities and pain. They also play a key role in supporting functional mobility, balance and overall postural stability.

Unfortunately, these specialist devices come with significant costs and I am seeking help to cover the funding gap. Any donation will go directly toward enabling Oliver to access the orthotic support he needs to maximise his comfort, mobility, and long-term physical development.

I am deeply grateful for any support, whether through a donation or by sharing this page.

7.5% of all donations to Tree of Hope in relation to this appeal will be allocated to the general charitable purposes of Tree of Hope to cover our core operating costs.

If we raise insufficient funds, or surplus funds, they will be used, if appropriate, to fund support for our child’s needs in accordance with Tree of Hope’s charitable objectives. If, in those circumstances, we are unable to use all or part of the funds for the benefit of our child, any funds that cannot be used will be transferred to be used for the general charitable purposes of Tree of Hope.
