Oliver Cliff

Oliver is 10 years old and has Conradi-Hünermann-Happle Syndrome. This syndrome is usually fatal in boys, and Oliver is one of around five known boys in the world to survive with the condition. Oliver’s 20-week ultrasound scan showed that his brain might not be forming properly, and subsequent scans and MRIs have revealed multiple brain abnormalities. As a result, Oliver has profound learning and developmental delays, epilepsy, visual impairment, and eating and swallowing difficulties. He was also born with a collodion membrane and ichthyosis and has patella, femur, and hip abnormalities. Additionally, he has experienced repeated chest infections and pneumonia.

Despite all the challenges he has faced, Oliver has always been a happy, cheeky boy. He has weekly physiotherapy sessions with Mini Wonders Children’s Physiotherapy and has made incredible progress with his head and trunk control since starting there. Unfortunately, no NHS funding is available to support these sessions, so we have to cover the cost ourselves, which amounts to around £4,000 a year. To ensure that Oliver can continue benefiting from these physiotherapy sessions, we need your help and kind donations.

7.5% of all donations to Tree of Hope in relation to this appeal will be allocated to the general charitable purposes of Tree of Hope to cover our core operating costs.

If we raise insufficient funds, or surplus funds, then the funds will be used, if appropriate, to fund support for our child’s needs in accordance with Tree of Hope’s charitable objects. If in those circumstances we are unable to use all or part of the funds for the benefit of our child in accordance with Tree of Hope’s charitable objectives, then any funds that cannot be used will be transferred to be used for the general charitable purposes of Tree of Hope.
