Meet Eli

Eli is a little boy with the most infectious smile and a laugh that can brighten even the hardest days. He is calm, curious, and full of joy. He loves playing with his drums, watching light-up toys sparkle, listening to children’s songs, and making everyone smile with his funny little reactions. One of his favourite things in the world is going on the swing, and sometimes the simplest moments bring him the biggest giggles—like the day he couldn’t stop laughing because his mummy had her glasses in her mouth.

But Eli’s journey hasn’t been an easy one.

At just six months old, Eli was diagnosed with a rare form of epilepsy that caused infantile spasms. Although the exact cause remains unknown, the condition has had a significant impact on his development. Eli also has developmental delay, meaning he reaches milestones at his own pace and needs extra support with his mobility and everyday skills. In early childhood, he experienced a temporary medical condition that has thankfully now resolved.

Hospital appointments, treatments, therapies, and uncertainty have become part of our everyday life. Yet through it all, Eli continues to amaze us with his strength, resilience, and gentle spirit. He faces each day with a smile, reminding us to find joy in the smallest moments.

Eli is also the centre of his little brother’s world. His younger brother adores him and can’t wait for the day Eli gives him a real, intentional hug. It is one of the many dreams our family holds close to our hearts—a simple embrace that will mean more to us than words could ever describe.

We are raising funds to give Eli the very best chance at reaching his full potential. The money raised will help cover vital medical treatments, specialist equipment, travel expenses, and ongoing physiotherapy to support his mobility and help him become as independent as possible.

Eli is so much more than his diagnoses. He is a little boy who loves squeaky noises, music, and discovering new things. He has a cheeky sense of humour and a way of finding happiness in unexpected moments. We believe in him wholeheartedly and want to give him every opportunity to thrive.

7.5% of all donations to Tree of Hope in relation to this appeal will be allocated to the general charitable purposes of Tree of Hope to cover our core operating costs.

If we raise insufficient funds, or surplus funds, then the funds will be used, if appropriate, to fund support for our child’s needs in accordance with Tree of Hope’s charitable objects. If in those circumstances we are unable to use all or part of the funds for the benefit of our child in accordance with Tree of Hope’s charitable objectives, then any funds that cannot be used will be transferred to be used for the general charitable purposes of Tree of Hope.
