Help us getting our baby boy back home

Our baby boy Antonio was born in London on the 7th of August 2019. He came like a miracle but only one month after his birth we found him not breathing and without a heartbeat whilst he was sleeping. He was resuscitated and rushed to our local hospital where he was stabilized and transferred to Great Ormond Street Hospital in London. The doctors said he remained around 40 minutes without oxygen. He has been at the GOSH for approximately one month. He started showing signs of improvement and that's why we decided to not give up on him. The hospital in London thought he was hopeless and wanted to take the ventilation off him and let him die without giving him a chance of recovery but we fought and thanks to the Italian Consulate in London, the Italian Government and the Italian Air Force, we finally transferred Antonio to the hospital Bambin Gesù in Roma. There he received part of the cures he needed. We can't really say how grateful we are toward them all! At the moment Antonio is in a residential care home in Emilia Romagna as our battle for Antonio's life leaded us here for an experimental treatment. The current global situation slowed down everything and Antonio's treatment has being delayed over and over but we managed to make him have a part of it and he improved for what was possible. Time has passed and we can't explain with simple words how heartbreaking it is to keep seeing our child in this condition, we did all we could to try to ensure him the best treatments but now our time in Italy has come to an end. There's nothing left for him to do in Italy and all we want is to have him back as HE IS at home in the UK, with us. We asked for help to those who helped us to get him back to Italy before, but since it is not an emergency life threatening condition anymore they can't help us. In order to take him back we gonna have to do everything on our own booking an airambulance, however we asked for few quotations to some repatriation companies and they all asked crazy amount of money but thankfully I met the wonderful team of Lucy Air Ambulance for Children whose are helping us to deal with all the medical aspect of his repatriation and will help us towards the cost (they cannot provide it as they fly in UK territory only) but we still have a partnof the cost to cover on our own and we can't afford it but we can't give up on him now!!! His repatriation has been programmed for the 17th of June 2022, we are running out of time and we need the money for that day, we fought so hard for his life and all we want now is having him back and regain some sort of peace and normality in our family. Please, with all of our heart we ask you to help us. Any amount of donation regardless how small is greatly appreciated. È arrivato come un miracolo, tutto era perfetto come in un sogno fino alla maledetta notte del 9 settembre 2019 in cui, a poco più di un mese dalla nascita, abbiamo rinvenuto il nostro bambino senza respiro e in arresto cardiaco nella culla dopo che la mamma lo ha allattato e messo a dormire. Portato in ospedale, è stato rianimato ma i medici sostengono che il bambino sia stato circa 40 minuti senza ossigeno. Trasferito immediatamente all'ospedale pediatrico Great Ormond Street, dove è stato ricoverato in terapia intensiva per circa un mese. Inizialmente considerato senza speranze, il nostro piccolo Antonio ha dato segni di ripresa. Ciò ci ha spinti a lottare per lui e non arrenderci. L'ospedale di Londra, poiché lo considerava senza speranze, voleva staccare il respiratore e lasciare che il nostro bambino morisse. Ci siamo opposti e, grazie all'aiuto del Consolato Italiano a Londra, del Governo Italiano e dell'Aeronautica Militare, siamo riusciti in tempi record, con un volo di Stato a trasferire il nostro piccolo miracolo presso il Bambin Gesù di Roma. Siamo veramente grati a tutti loro per l'aiuto! Una volta arrivato in Italia, Antonio è stato sottoposto ad un intervento di tracheotomia e PEG per l'alimentazione. La nostra avventura è proseguita fino alla data odierna, prendendo direzioni inaspettate: siamo giunti in Emilia Romagna dove abbiamo proseguito senza sosta la nostra lotta per la vita di Antonio. L'attuale situazione di emergenza globale ha praticamente bloccato l'accesso alle cure sperimentali di cui Antonio necessita e infatti siamo riusciti a farne solo una parte ma tanto quanto basta per aiutare Antonio a fare qualche piccolo ulteriore passo verso un miglioramento. Abbiamo lottato tanto per lui, abbiamo pregato e sperato in un miracolo che non ci è stato concesso ma ci siamo resi conto che alla fine il vero miracolo è Antonio stesso così come ci è stato dato e per il tempo che ci sarà dato per amarlo. Pertanto il nostro tempo in Italia giunge al termine. Rivolgiamo Antonio a casa in Inghilterra con noi così com'è, per ritrovare finalmente un po' di pace e serenità nella natura famiglia. Abbiamo provato a chiedere aiuto a coloro che ci hanno aiutato a riportare Antonio in Italia inizialmente ma ci hanno detto che non essendo più una situazione situazione di imminente pericolo per la vita non possono aiutarci e che purtroppo dobbiamo pagarci di tasca nostra un'aeroambulanza. Abbiamo chiesto qualche preventivo e i prezzi che ci sono stati chiesti erano assolutamente fuori dalla nostra portata, per fortuna sono però incappata nella meravigliosa associazione Lucy Air Ambulance for Children che ci sta aiutando a gestire tutta la parte medico-burocratica relativa al suo rimpatrio. Purtroppo non posso essere loro direttamente ad effettuare il volo perché loro operano solo sul territorio dell'Inghilterra ed essendo Antonio in Italia è fuori dal loro campo d'azione, nonostante ciò si sono offerti di pagarci parte della quota ma il resto è a carico nostro e non possiamo permettercelo poiché sono ancora parecchi soldi dei quali noi non disponiamo. La data del rimpatrio è fissata per il 17 giugno 2022 pertanto ci servono i soldi per quella data. Malgrado tutto, ci ritroviamo a dover chiedere aiuto e un supporto per riuscire a sostenere quest'ultimo enorme passo per la vita di Antonio.
