Fulfilling Isaac's Potential

Isaac (6) has Spastic Quadriplegia - a severe form of Cerebral Palsy that prevents independent mobility. As a result of his condition, he also has learning difficulties, Cerebral Visual Impairment (CVI - rendering him virtually blind) and is unable to orally feed properly or communicate audibly/effectively. His additional challenges include respiratory depression that requires occasional non-intrusive ventilated support (c-pap), twice-daily chest pats (physio), nebulisers and daily suction for excess secretions.

Our aim is to provide the very best environment for Isaac to fulfill his potential and meet his individual milestones.

Our current goal is to get Isaac his own sense of space by providing a sensory play area that he can access like his sisters including safe surfacing, wheelchair accessible swing, accessible picnic table (so he can be at the table rather than near it), wind chimes and sensory kit such as water features, planting etc. We also want to fund a cabin-style soft-play dark room including bubble tube, light projector, UV strobes and music. 

To help achieve this Isaac will constantly need vital equipment, sensory apparatus, postural systems and orthopedic equipment/clothing within a purpose built and accessible environment at home. Isaac will also require ongoing physiotherapy, conductive & cognitive therapies, treatments and operations to supplement his progress and support his goals.

Despite Isaac's daily obstacles, his sweet placid nature shines through and he rewards us with bright smiles and knowing glances when he hears & feels something familiar.

Through providing the outlined support and services, we hope to enhance Isaac's sensory environment; helping him fulfil his potential and reach his Milestones.

Tree of Hope have already helped with the purchase of vital items from the monies raised to help Isaac including Wheelchair Swing (thanks to Dave & Elaine Taylor x), sensory bed, rubber mats and building materials.

Should we exceed the target amount ( or if we do not raise enough funds, or if they cannot be used for any other reason) the funds raised will go to the general funds of Tree of Hope to assist other sick children
