Autism assistance dog for Sienna Wing

Our daughter Sienna is 11  years old & was diagnosed with High Functioning Autism when she was 7. Sienna is a fun loving happy young lady who enjoys being outdoors, horse riding, cooking & loves animals Sienna also has a co-morbid diagnosis of ADHD.

Sienna struggles with difficulties with emotional and sensory regulation, high levels of anxiety and difficulties developing positive peer relationships which can lead to reduced confidence and self-esteem anddisengagement with meaningful participation. There are numerous benefits to having an assistance dog, perhaps for Sienna, the most important benefit that an assistance dog promotes is

the development of empathy and theory mind skills, as in order for her to properly

care for a dog, she must be able to consider life from the perspective of

another living being. This is a skill that she will be able to transfer to her peers with

time.

The dog will be trained from 8 weeks of age to meet Sienna’s needs, During Sienna’s dog’s training you will be able to follow their training journey and see the difference that they are making to Sienna on the Supporting Paws website www.supportingpaws.co.uk

We hope you can help us achieve Sienna’s dream of getting an Autism Assistance Dog with the help of The Tree of Hope & Supporting Paws CIC. We would like to thank you for taking the time to read our story & really do hope you can help us in any way you can thank you once again.
