Tiago's Fund for Life
Please help us raise £4,000 for Tree of Hope to help Tiago receive Bobath therapy.
Hi, my name is Tiago and I am nearly 7 years old. I love to be outdoors, making friends and having adventures.
I have cerebral palsy which affects the messages sent between my brain and my muscles. The condition affects my posture, movement and co-ordination. I have dystonic cerebral palsy affecting all of my limbs, which means my muscles can change from stiff to floppy making it difficult for me to control them. There is no cure for my brain injury, but there are treatments and therapies that can reduce the impact the condition has on me, and in time that can help me achieve more independence.
I enjoy going to mainstream primary school. I use a power wheelchair to get around and an eye gaze device to communicate.
Sadly, my daddy died in a car accident when I was 5 months old so mummy is both a mummy and daddy to me. She tries really hard to find the best therapies for me but that costs a lot. I like the Bobath centre because we learn lots of new positions for me which we incorporate into every day activities. I have lots of spasms, especially down my right side and if I don’t have this therapy then I could develop deformities as I get older.
Please help us raise money for further therapy so I can keep doing the things I love.
Should we exceed the target amount (or if we do not raise enough funds, or if they cannot be used for any other reason) the funds raised will go to the general funds of Tree of Hope to assist other sick children.
