For the past few years Tree of Hope were chosen to be Marks and Spencer Tunbridge Wells (Royal Victoria Place) charity of the year! We are pleased to say this is continuing into 2017/2018. The team at M&S have been wonderful fundraisers for the charity as a whole and have consequently raised over £7000 so far! This year they have set a goal of £10,000 to raise by the end of the year!
The staff have also supported Tree of Hope by donating various bits and pieces from in store for many of our events. This included providing drinks, sweets and fruit for all the runners at our Starfish Races event in May. In which, many of the staff members geared up and got in training to run the Starfish Races marathon, half marathon and 10k relay too! Plus, many more took the time out to volunteer as marshals to cheer on all the participants on!
In addition to this, the team at Marks and Spencer also got involved with their #SpendItWell campaign where members of staff volunteered their time to come into our offices and transform our meeting room into something inspiring, and practical. Consequently, we are now able to support families via Skype in a private room. They even donated the screen too!
The latest challenge they will be taking part in for Tree of Hope, is Dragon Boat Racing this Septembers at Bewl Water’s Dragon Boat Festival. Around 20 members of the team will be paddling across the Kent reservoir in a bid to raise another £2000 for Tree of Hope! Last year they were Percy Pigs and we can’t wait to see their chosen theme for 2017!
If you are ever in Tunbridge Wells, ensure you pop in to their Royal Victoria Place store and you’ll see our collection pots all over the store and at the tills!
