Ruby and sebes wish to breathe
As many of you know ruby 9 and sebe 4 both have cystic fibrosis. A large amount of their lives are spent in Birmingham childrens hospital and when we are home our days are a battle consistent of hours of physio and hundreds of pills. A few years back a drug called 'orkambi' was discovered to treat the root cause of cf, stabilising lung function and drastically reducing hospital admissions. A chance of a 'normal' life! Only problem is it is not funded on the NHS here in England. We have been given an opportunity to buy this ourselves at a cost of £24,000 per year per child. So to fund ruby and sebe for one year the cost is £48,000. We have to raise £10,000 initially to fund at least a few months which will hopefully give us time to think of how we are going to pull this off. We are aware this is a massive amount of money and we are exploring every Avenue we can to raise the money. So here's our starting point ....
7.5% of all donations to Tree of Hope in relation to this appeal will be allocated to the general charitable purposes of Tree of Hope to cover our core operating costs.
If we raise insufficient funds, or surplus funds, then the funds will be used, if appropriate, to fund support for our child’s needs in accordance with Tree of Hope’s charitable objects. If in those circumstances we are unable to use all or part of the funds for the benefit of our child in accordance with Tree of Hope’s charitable objectives, then any funds that cannot be used will be transferred to be used for the general charitable purposes of Tree of Hope.
