In 2012 I am planning on running as many marathons as I can in support of Breast Cancer Care.
2010 started off pretty badly for my family, my aunty Elaine passed away in January aged 53, a second bout of cancer beating her on this occasion. 2 days later, the family where dealt a massive blow with the news my aunty Chris had also passed away suddenly aged 55, un-cancer related but still an unprecedented shock to us all.
Early 2011, my mother was diagnosed with Breast Cancer, fortunately, after an operation and several radiotherapy sessions later, she came through it. Thank god!
Breast Cancer Care is here for anyone affected by breast cancer. They bring people together, provide information and support, and campaign for improved standards of care. Whilst we find a cure, it is imperative that organisations can support people and their families through their battle against cancer.
At some stage in ourselves we or someone in our family will probably be affected by Cancer, hopefully not!
Having seen my mother and my family come through one of the worst periods in our lives, I feel now is the time to start supporting the organisations that are trying to help, support and cure this devastating disease.
