ABR is a unique therapy which rebuilds the strength, structure and function of a body with a specific technique so that the own development can take over.
Most therapies for children with brain damage or other physical disorders focus on rapid progress:
– training (stretching, balancing, …)
– operations (botox, muscle extensions, …)
– aids (splints, standing boards, …)
ABR approaches the problem completely different. The body structure of children with brain damage or other physical disorders clearly deviates from the body structure of a healthy child. How can weak vital functions and a distorted body structure be a good basis for normal functional movements?
The goal of ABR is to (re)build the body architecture so that functional improvements such as head control, trunk control, sitting, crawling, walking, … develop spontaneously.
Disorders that can be treated include cerebral palsy, developmental delay, hemiplegia, genetic diseases, microcephaly, hydrocephaly, Down syndrome, Rett syndrome, scoliosis, spasms, autism, …
