My Little Sister Lily
Hello! My name is Ella. I'm 5 years old and this page has been set up to help my little sister, Lily.
When she was tiny, Lily was upset all the time. Mummy & Daddy were very worried, as she would cry & cry. When she was 6 months old, mummy took her to the doctor, as she had started to do funny things with her eyes & arms. They doctor said mummy should take her to the hospital...it was very scary for everyone.
At hospital the doctors told us Lily had a hurty brain and that she would need lots of tests, special injections and would have to stay in hospital. The hurt in her brain was making her very, very poorly and the doctors weren't sure if they could make her better, but they would try their best! They told us that there would probably be lots of things that Lily wouldn't be able to do as she got bigger, things I could do already, like walk, run, chat or even play.
We were lucky though, as Lily had some very brilliant doctors!! They made her nasty seizures stop but she still had her hurty brain, and that couldn't be fixed with medicine. When she left hospital, the doctors said we would have to work very hard to help Lily to get better. She had lots of exercises to do, had special chairs, a special pushchair, lovely warm swimming pools to visit and mummy had to go to school to learn how to help Lily start to talk!! This was the best bit, as her first word was.....ELLA!!
Even though she still can't stand or walk, Lily is VERY chatty, cheeky, bossy & happy! She LOVES Peppa Pig, sings nursery rhymes all the time, love swimming with me & daddy and is happiest on the swings!!
Her doctors think that if she had a special trike, it would help to make Lilys poorly legs stronger, which could help her to walk! I think it would be brilliant if we could go to the park on our bikes, and she wouldn't need to be in her pushchair all the time! With mummy, daddy & our family and friends, we want to try and raise the money to get her a trike! I am going to do a sponsored swim for my first challenge, as we love to swim!! I will promise to keep updating the page with our new challenges!!
If we exceed the target amount or if we do not raise enough, or if the funds cannot be used by us for any other reason, they will go to Tree of Hope to help other sick children.
