Maeve’s Magical Journey

Maeve web banner

Maeve’s Magical Journey has been a fundraising success this year and thanks to fantastic community support, the family are close to exceeding their target!

Maeve has Cerebral Palsy and would love nothing more than to be able to walk and play with her friends freely. Maeve relies on Kaye Walker to get around and has made amazing progress so far and the family have been fundraising for SDR an operation that will release spasticity is her legs and will enable to her to rebuild her muscles in a way that will give her the foundations to be able to walk unaided with the help of lots of physiotherapy and aftercare.

Maeve’s community pulled together a couple of months ago to do a sponsored walk in aid for Maeve’s Magical Journey campaign. Wallingford School Academy Trust do a sponsored walk every year and always choose a charity that is close to the hearts of the pupils. This year, the sponsored saw approximately 1400 pupils taking part, including Maeve in her wheelchair and pupils of Maeve’s Primary School for the very first time. The school are still gathering funds, but it is expected the funds raised have already exceeded Maeve’s fundraising target!

Congratulations to Maeve’s Magical Journey and to everyone who has been involved in helping the family raise these vital funds for Maeve’s ongoing development!
