Leon Takes his First Steps!
Leon is a three year old boy who suffers with Cerebral Palsy. His family and friends are currently fundraising with Tree of Hope to hit their target of £60,000 and get Leon the life changing surgery, SDR, that he needs. Leon will also need post and pre-op physiotherapy along with necessary equipment to ensure the operation is as effective as it can be. This will hopefully enable Leon to walk independently one day. You can read more of his story
here.
Last week Leon went on leaps and bounds in his development. In one of his pre-SDR therapy sessions, Leon took his very first steps with his walker! An incredible achievement for Leon, showing the bright future he has ahead of him. Well done Leon!
Mother Kasia comments, ‘This week Leon has taken his first steps with a walker (not just his mini-walk) and the video taken at SDR Fitness Wales.. this has shown us what he will be capable of post SDR and that he has the drive to get himself walking. ‘ Tree of Hope are extremely proud to support so many children like Leon and its fantastic to see their improvement and development with the support from Tree of Hope.
Leon’s first time stepping with a walker and not his mini-walk that he pushes in front of him. I love going to SDR Fitness in Wales as Leon surprises me each time by doing something new 🙂
