That's the page up and running

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I have decided to raise money for Alzheimer Scotland to help them with the fantastic job they do supporting dementia sufferer's and their families. My family have been supported by the charity for a number of years, with my Di Rab being diagnosed with Alzheimer's almost 10 years ago. The charity have allowed my Gran and Grandad to attend day centres in order to meet other sufferers and their carers along with providing priceless information and support to help cope with the illness.

Dementia is the progressive loss of powers of the brain. The most common cause is Alzheimer's Disease, but many conditions can cause dementia. In Scotland over 61,000 people suffer from dementia, with 60% of those people living at home, either alone or being supported by family.

The charity provides day centres, home support and drop-in centres among other services and rely very much so on donations to be able to function.

Having previously completed the Edinburgh 10k and Pedal for Scotland to help the charity I have decided to challenge myself to add Swimming to the equation and complete the London Triathlon.

Any donations would be greatly appreciated as without this generosity the charity wouldn't be able to provide the services that they do.

Thanks in advance

Kev
