Joanne's Footprints For Pollie

Pollie is our 2nd daughter, and was born at 24 weeks gestation, weighing a tiny 1lb 10oz.  She spent 23 weeks and 4 days in hospital, and had lots of complications along the way - many times we thought we were going to loose her

Pollie suffered a left hand brain bleed, which has left her with a right sided weakness, and has Hydrocephalus and Epilepsy.  She has 2 shunts insitue, which controls her 'complex' Hydrocephalus, and will unfortunately mean more operations to come in her life.

Pollie is now 3 years old, and is developmentally delayed , and has mobility issues.  We are work tirelessly with Pollie carrying out lots of Physiotherapy, horse riding and other private therapies on a daily basis.

Pollie has a good sense of humour, and astounds us and all around her, with her strength and determination.   Pollie and her older sister Freya absolutley adore each other, and they make our life complete.

This year we are hoping to take Pollie to the NAPA Centre in Los Angeles, USA where she will benefit from world class therapies.  We will also continue with private physiotherapy, the Brainwave Centre in Warrington and also the Snowdrop Neuro Development Centre in Exeter.

Should we exceed the target amount (or if we do not raise enough funds, or if they cannot be used for any other reason) the funds raised will go to the general funds of the Tree of Hope to assist other sick children.
