Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Our son James was born prematurely and he had a cephalhematoma (haemorrhage between his skull and periosteum) which more than likely contributed to hIm developing plagiocephaly and braciocephaly. This condition means that James' head shape is deformed. We did all that we could to get treatment for James' condition, we were referred by our G.P. to a pediatric specialist at the hospital and whilst they acknowledged that James does have plagiocephaly and braciocephaly, unfortunately the NHS do not currently fund the treatment of these conditions.
The only way to treat it is with a specialised helmet, costing £2000, which he will have to where 23 hours each day! He will also require some cranial osteopath sessions to 'mobilise' the skull plates (in order for them to be manipulated back into the correct positions) and to restore full movement of his neck muscles (which have been affected by the problems with his skull). We are raising money for Tree of Hope to support James in order to help fund his helmet and treat his conditions. Any additional money that we raise will go into the Tree of Hope funds to support other children in need. Please help us with this. Many thanks in advance.
