Helmets for Robbie & Ryan
Robbie & Ryan are now 7 months old! They are happy babies, who are constantly smiling. Since they were little we noticed that they both have flat heads, which we hoped would correct themselves but unfortunately they havn't. We took them for a cranial assessment & were told that they both have severe cases of Flat Head Syndrome.
This isn't covered by the NHS as it is regarded as cosmetic, and each treatment costs £1950!!
Robbie has Brachycephaly - this is when the back of the head becomes flattened, causing the head to widen.
Ryan has Plagiocephaly- this is the most common type and occurs when the head is flattened on one side, causing it to look asymmetrical and distorted.
The sooner the boys get their helmets, the better. So James and I, along with family members & friends, will be doing various fundraising/activities. If you are interested in raising money for the boys then please let us know. We all really appreciate it. 💙💙
If any extra money is raised then the remaining will go to Tree of Hope, Tunbridge Wells. Tree of Hope offers hope to the families of sick and disabled children in the UK who need specialist medical surgery, treatment and therapy in order to free them from suffering, giving a better quality to their young lives.
