Thanks for taking the time to visit Grace’s JustGiving page.
Grace was born in July 2009 and was a much-wanted baby after infertility treatment. She was born at just 26weeks weighing little over 1lb. She spent 3 long months in the neonatal intensive care unit. She sailed through her time there despite having a severe brain bleed on both sides, caused by a very traumatic birth. She came home weighing 4lb.
At the age of 1year Grace was diagnosed with cerebral palsy, it was initially thought that this would not affect her too badly, however at the age of 3 it is thought that the chances of her ever walking are very slim. She has no mobility at all and relies on adults to move her to where ever she wants to go. Her condition also mean she suffers painful leg spasms.
Despite this Grace is an extremely happy, bright and positive little girl who has just started mainstream pre-school.
Grace receives physiotherapy from the NHS every month. However this is not enough for her and for her to stand any chance of any sort of independence she needs physiotherapy at least once a week. This is very expensive, (up to £70 an hour). Her parents put towards it what they can put obviously for this physiotherapy to be able to continue they need help, which is why this page has been set up.
Family and friends are doing continuous fundraising, such as runs and cycle rides. Any donation is received with huge thanks from Grace and her parents.
