Chris and Alex wish to walk, speak and hear
My twins were born at 25 weeks gestation and admitted to SCBU for 4 months. They have hydrocephalus and sensorineural hearing loss, poor vision, poor mobility and tone and fully dependent on me the mother for everything.
They are under the supervision of Great Ormond Street Hospital, Newham General and the Royal London for ongoing management of their health. Chris has been diagnosed with cerebral palsy.
The twins need a lot of specialist equipment including a writing slope and seat wedge set, physiotherapy roll peanut balls, adjustable special beds, computers for communication, adjustable chair and desks and sensory toys and lights.
The benefits of this specialist equipment not funded by the nhs will be enormous. It will help them with their balance, and general walking and talking. They will both be able to communicate and participate in activities at homewith brothers and sister, friends and classmates.
Should we exceed the target or if we do not raise enough or if they cannot be used for any other reason, the funds raised will go to Tree of Hope to help other sick children. Any support and help for Tree of Hope will be very appreciated.
