Frankie's page - Please help heal my head
Frankie was born with Torticollis in his neck, meaning that he could only turn his head in one direction. Sadly even with daily physiotherapy on his neck, carrying him as much as possible and constant repositioning, the left side of his skull was still under abnormal pressure for the first few weeks of his life and he had been left with severe Plagiocephaly. Basically the left side of his skull is deformed. He also has a protrusion on his forehead and his ears are badly misaligned. Sadly this isn't something the NHS will fund treatment for and we've been told that it won't improve naturally if left untreated.
Frankie is a bright, happy, loving baby and the thought of him spending the rest if his life coping with a deformed skull is heartbreaking, when there is a cure if treated while he is a baby. As well as the emotional and psychological impact, Frankie would be unable to wear glasses or do things like wear a cycle helmet. Frankie had an assessment at the Technology In Motion clinic in London and they have said that a cranial helmet could re-shape his skull, in a matter of months, but he is vital that he starts treatment as soon as possible. I am going to do everything I can to stop him having to suffer with this for the rest of his life and words really can't express how grateful Frankie and I would be for any contributions towards his treatment.
We are fundraising with the children's charity Tree of Hope, who authenticate Frankie's condition and support sick and disabled children nationwide. If Frankie's target isn't met then all money raised is donated to the Tree of Hope to help other sick and disabled children.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read Frankie's page and again, we are forever grateful for any support.
