Eddie from Bridlington in East Yorkshire was born at 29 weeks and weighed 2lb 9oz. The doctors told me when he was 3 days old he had had a brain bleed and at 3 weeks old they told me that the bleed had left cysts on his brain.

He left hospital at 9 weeks old and life seemed perfect and being born so early didn't seem to have left him with any major problems. He was progressing well right up till 6 months old when he had a seizure and then was it my life was turned upside down.

He was diagnosed with epilepsy and was started on medication to try and stop the seizures but from that day the little boy I knew went back to being able to do nothing. Eddie is now 4 year old and has been diagnosed with brain damage (PVL) , epilepsy, global development delay and cerebral palsy. He can not sit, stand nor crawl, while he is fed by a g tube fitted into his stomach. He's a beautiful happy boy with a contagious laugh and smile. E will never progress much in his abilities but what he lacks in being able to do he makes up by looking so cheeky and smiling his way into people's hearts.

We don't know how much he can see although he does like lights but can not see faces. His love in life is music as long as it has a good beat.

I am trying to raise money so we can adapt our downstairs so he can be pushed from room to room in his wheelchair. At the moment I am having to carry him as his chair won't fit through. Eddie will never live a independent life and is totally reliant on everyone. As he's growing the equipment he needs is also getting bigger making it even harder. He's an amazing little boy that's so happy even with all his problems. All I want him is to be happy and be able to take part of everyday family life.
