Dylan\'s need for speed
Hello my name is Dylan and I am nine years old, I live in Stonehouse,Gloucestershire.
I was born nine weeks prematurely and suffered a brain injury leading to be diagnosed with severe cerebral palsy with spastic quadriplegia. I cannot sit up,crawl ,stand or walk, however I don't let this get me down,I have a huge zest for life, I have been described by my paediatrician as a extremely charming and spirited young man. Everybody loves me as I'm funny with a wicked sense of humour and I'm nearly always happy.
I'm sad when I can't join in with my friends a powered wheelchair would allow me to keep up with them. I joined the Cheltenham Saracens power chair football club in September 2014, playing with them will help me with my co ordination , social skills, teamwork and most importantly helping me to become more independent whilst having a ball!
I am in desperate need of a power chair which is specifically for me as I require a lot of postural support. I'm currently using an adults sized chair which doesn't support me, I'm padded out with cushions to keep me upright, my head isn't supported leaving me to feel quite unsafe.
Should we exceed the target amount (or if we do not raise enough funds, or if they cannot be used for any other reason) the funds raised will go to the general funds of Tree of Hope to assist other sick children.
