Liam's story

Hello, my name is Liam and I am 3 years old.

When I was 5 months old I got very poorly with an unknown virus, the after effects of which were a global loss of the white matter and a serious visual impairment.Despite numerous scans and blood tests over the last two and a half years I am still undiagnosed. I have virtually no muscle tone, I cannot support my own head or sit unaided, I do not know what my hands are for or how to use them and I cannot roll over.
However, as much as I am like a floppy rag doll, I am a very happy little chap. I go to Glyne Gap Special Needs (Nursery) School in Bexhill 3 days a week and love music, touch, swimming and all kinds of messy play.

I am part of a very loving family and I have the best friends ever, including The Tree Of Hope Childrens Charity in Bexhill who have kindly agreed to help me with funding for therapy at The Advance Centre in East Grinstead which will help me. I start my first week on 5th December and will keep you posted as to my progress.
