Callum Branch Trust
We are fundraising for Callum's ongoing physiotherapy. We were told when Callum was born he would spend his life in a wheelchair but thanks to a great surgeon in the States Callum's legs are now starting to work like any other child and is now starting to walk all by himself but still has a long way to go.
In July 2010 Callum had a Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy at the St Louis Children's Hospital in Missouri. Callum has diplegia cerebral palsy which means the muscles in his legs were stiff and he was unable to walk or stand by himself. Callum is now 2 years post op and has proved those UK doctors wrong and can stand and walk a little all by himself. He still needs lots of intense physiotherapy which costs us a lot of money and having to return to the States earlier this year for muscle lengthening the fundraising pot is now empty.
Callum is booked in for two lots of intense therapy in 2013 and this will be on-going. He also requires a private physiotherapist as the NHS will not provide the on-going therapy he needs.
