Mum Kate Dawe was “devastated” when Tristan’s selective dorsal rhizotomy – “the moment that would change his life” – was cancelled last week.
Kate, 28, from Coventry, said: “We were devastated. It was meant to be the moment that would change Tristan’s life. To be told we can’t get surgery on the NHS was shocking. I felt physically sick.”
Kate, a victim support worker, and husband Sam, 32, have now set up a JustGiving page with Tree of Hope to raise money for private surgery.
