Hi this is Adams fundraising page.
Adam is a happy loving 14-year-old boy, whos has had a roller coaster journey so far. His main diagnosis is a chromosome abnormality, he has deletions of chromosomes 2 & 5. He has a pretty poor stomach that causes him lots of reflux and problems with his stomach seem to flare up whenever anything else is going on. Adam has a lot of seizure activity (which has become worse recently). Adam is registered blind and unable to walk or weight bear meaning he relies on his wheelchair. Although he eats small amounts of soft/mashed food, Adam gets his calories through his gastrostomy and to help his breathing overnight we pass a nasopharyngeal tube to help keep his airways open.
No matter what Adam goes through it never takes long for his gorgeous infectious smile to come back.
Some of the equipment Adam needs is provided through NHS and OT however some of It we need to buy and it costs thousands of pounds that we don't have.
Due to Adams needs he requires a very specialist bed to keep him safe and comfortable over night. This bed alone costs thousands of pounds. Adams current bed was funded for him but no longer meets his needs and this time we need to find the funds to buy a new one.
When Adam is away from home overnight we have the same problem, Adams bed is too large, heavy and complicated to be moved so he needs a second bed that can be folded/dismantled and transported so that he can visit family overnight, come on family holidays, and stay safe.
There are other items too that Adam needs but these are his priorities. Thank you for helping us help Adam.
Should we exceed the target amount the funds raised will go to the general funds of Tree of Hope to assist other sick children.
