My name is Abe Oliver Astur and I am two years old. In April 2012, I was diagnosed with Spastic Diplegia, a form of Cerebral Palsy. This condition causes very tight muscles (spasticity) in my legs which means I cannot stand or walk without assistance. Despite my physical challenges, I am a bright and determined little boy but I become frustrated when my friends are running around at the park. I just want to join in and do all the things they take for granted.
Without intervention, my condition is unlikely to improve. To improve my long term mobility and reduce the likelihood of associated deformities my parents would like me to have Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy (SDR) surgery. We must raise £50,000 to cover the cost of specialist surgery in the US followed by intensive physiotherapy.
