Tree of Hope's Aaron's Ambition
Aaron was diagnosed at a young age with Spastic Diplegia which is a form of Cerebral Palsy and predominately affects his lower limbs and hence, his mobility.
Aaron is a wonderful young boy, he is very kind and caring and despite everything he has been through, hospital appointments, attending physiotherapy and coping with being in pain on a daily basis, Aaron never complains or feels sorry for himself.
Aaron is a very determined boy despite his disability. He lives life to the full and will always attempts to join in playing with his friends, although his lack of mobility often means he is left behind. Aaron walks on his toes and so he suffers daily with pain and stiffness in his legs.
We are raising money to enable Aaron to have an operation called SDR which is Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy. This operation, combined with an intensive physiotherapy programme would give Aaron the chance to walk without constant pain and discomfort.
We know we have a long journey ahead of us, but we are determined to achieve Aaron's Ambition to have this operation. With a little bit of help, we believe we can get one step closer to making this dream a reality.
All the money donated is set aside for Aaron and will be used to pay for the SDR and the post-operative physiotherapy afterwards.
Should we exceed the target amount (or if we do not raise enough funds, or if they can not be used for any other reason) the funds raised will go to the general funds of Tree of Hope to assist other sick children.
