Alicia was born unexpectedly 10 weeks premature on 30th January in 2003. She was cared for on the neonatal unit at St Mary’s hospital in Portsmouth for 7 weeks. During her first few days of life she suffered a hemorrhage to her brain which resulted in her being diagnosed with cerebral palsy and hydrochepalus, which is fluid on the brain. At the age of just 6 months old Alicia underwent surgery to insert a vp shunt into her head to take control of the hydrocephalus.

These medical problems have left Alicia needing 24 hour care which her parents Lee and Sharon undertake.

Alicia is now 11 years old and lives in Portsmouth and has 3 siblings, Kayleigh aged13 and twins Courtney and Scarlett aged 6. In spite of her disabilities Alicia is a very happy princess.

Due to her physical disability Alicia suffers daily pain in all her limbs which she has medication to help but intense therapies would help ease these discomforts that disturb her sleep on a daily basis. We are currently fundraising as a family only to install a through floor lift to give Alicia access to upstairs in our property and sleep with all the family. Once this has been funded and installed we would like her to have sensory equipment including special lighting and heated water bed for her to relax on, along with hydrotherapy, physiotherapy and private treatment courses to relieve her daily discomforts and allow her possibly to be free of pain in all her limbs.

So, please support Tree of Hope to help Alicia have these much needed items and therapies. Every penny counts!
