Ruby’s mission

A couple whose daughter was born 10 weeks premature are hoping to raise £40,000 for an operation which could help her walk for the first time.

Ruby Atkins was born on Christmas Day 2010 and despite being premature the little girl was allowed home from the Royal Gwent Neo-Natal Unit after just six weeks.

Ruby was diagnosed with bilateral cerebral palsy when she was two-and-a-half-years-old. The condition restricts her mobility and her ability to walk unaided and she uses a walking frame.
