Sam is 6 years old from Portsmouth and has cerebral palsy.

Over the past year Sam has been working really hard to improve his strength in the hope that he will be a good candidate for a pioneering operation in the USA called Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy.

The surgery will relax the muscle tension in his legs, remove the painful spasms in his legs and generally give him a much better control of himself. After the surgery Sam will have to do intensive physiotherapy and strengthening building exercises to be able to move his legs and body weight. The surgeon has predicted many benefits for Samuel having SDR, one of them being he will be able to walk using a frame!

This would be a dream come true for Sam and us as family.
