Morgan Kavanagh

My son Morgan is ten years old and has Diplegia Cerebral Palsy and is being assessed for depression by a psychologist.

He is on medication to help with muscle tightness four times a day and has had several operations of Botox which haven’t been as successful as we had hoped. He is in constant pain which also keeps him awake at night.

He would love to play football with his friends but this is a huge struggle for him due to the pain and he relies upon his walking aid which he uses daily with high rise splints.

We are fundraising for Morgan to have SDR (Selective Dorsal Rhiztomy), an operation which will ease the pain and tension within muscles. Paired with intense post-operative therapies, we really hope Morgan will be able to learn to walk without a walking aid. He uses a wheelchair on longer walks but dreams of being able to walk without pain or mobility aids.

Morgan is also under investigation for having achalasia which is rare in children of his age. He struggles to eat a simple meal and drink enough fluids. By helping us fundraise, Morgan will be able to develop in more ways than one and get on with life and be able to tackle his achalasia.

Any donation big or small will make a huge difference to Morgan’s life, thank you for your support, we can’t express how much it means.
