A wish to walk without wheels

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Here is my story...... I was born 13 weeks premature and weighed just 1lb 13oz. My mum says I am a little fighter. I had to spend 4 months in hospital and had many ups and downs but I made it home. I had to have oxygen at home because my lungs were small and poorly, I came on leaps and bounds and managed to get off the oxygen after about 4-5 months. Despite my progress my mum noticed that I was behind with reaching milestones, things like rolling, sitting and crawling but she put it down to me being born so early, this got reviewed by a doctor when I was about 1 and a half and my mum was told that I had Cerebral Palsy. I was none the wiser and carried on growing and doing toddler things. I started pre-school when I was 2 and since then I have continued to develop, I started to sit and by the time I reached 3 I was able to crawl and walk around holding furniture. I am now 4 years old and I walk with the help of my frame, I cannot stand on my own and I walk on my tiptoes, my doctors say this is not good for my hips and is causing them to become out of line. Mum told me there is a special operation that will make my feet stay flat on the ground which will help my hips and prevent me having to have surgery on them, the operation will get rid of the spasticity I feel in my legs and I will be able to  build strength, it gives me a chance of walking normal and maybe even without my frame. I am a very lucky girl and the operation has been offered to me by the doctors which means my family wont have to fund-raise to pay for this very expensive operation but they need to fundraise to help with the cost of the aftercare. The doctors say the aftercare is the most important part to determine the success of the operation, I will need intensive physiotherapy for up to 3 years post op and I will need equipment at home to help me reach the maximum potential. The funds will also go towards one to one swimming as this is good for my muscles.  Private physio costs £60 an hour and I will need this once a week for up to 3 years. If we can get 2,000 people to give £5 then we will reach out target. Thank you. xx

Should we exceed the target amount (or if we do not raise enough funds, or if they cannot be used for any other reason) the funds raised will go to the general funds of Tree of Hope to assist other sick children.
