Meet Océano!

Océano

Océano has been a fantastic fundraiser and chose to do his sponsored walk for Tree of Hope!

‘My name is Océano and I’ll be 9 years old in November. Some of the things I really enjoy doing are reading, singing, dancing, running and sports.

I attend an amazing school in my area and I have some great friends some of whom share some of my interest like reading and sports.

From the age of 5 years old when I joined this school I started doing an annual sponsored walk for charities chosen by my school, I’ve walked for and supported many charities since then and by myself I’ve raised almost £2,300.00 in three years. These are the charities I have help so far: Sussex Wildlife Trust, W.A.R. Women At Risk project in Ethiopia, Water Aid, Kiya Survivors project in Peru, Tree Of Hope.

Last year (2014) I suggested to my school that I would like to do the sponsored walk in (2015) for Tree Of Hope charity, because during that summer I attended a kids’ festival called LITTLE MONSTERS BASH in Brighton, East Sussex, hosted by TREE OF HOPE where my mother & I met the charity staff who told us about the charity and the work that it does for children in the UK.

After leaving the festival I decided that that is the charity I wanted to do my sponsored walk for in 2015. So, when I suggested it to my school and provided information about the charity, it was finally chosen as one of the four charities that my school would support at our 2015 annual sponsored walk.

I’m a normal boy who likes doing normal things that boys my age do, like run around, play video games, climb trees and sometimes get into trouble, but I also love to do things to help people, mainly children, who are not as fortunate as me with good health and who can not do the things that many children can..

Regards

Océano’
