Donate to Tree of Hope today so that we can continue to help children

Isla was born at 28 weeks gestation in Cheltenham, and had a bleed on the brain shorty after being born. As a result of this it has left brain damage which has developed into cerebral palsy. This affects Isla’s ability to use her arms but more predominantly her legs. As a result she cannot sit without her specialist seating, crawl or stand unaided. Although we are working towards her achieving these goals with her physio and she is making great progress towards these goals and can stand with the help of the sofa and play with her toys.

Isla would love to be more mobile and gets very frustrated with her inability to get around. There is an operation avaliable in the US called Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy (SDR) which should reduce the stiffness in her legs and so enable her to gain more control of her legs and therefore enable her to achieve a greater quality of life and hopefully achieve her dream of walking and independence.

The funds raised will go to the general funds of Tree of Hope to assist other sick children should we exceed the target amount, or if we do not raise enough funds, or if they cannot be used for any other reason.

Thank you.
