Help Noah Walk

Hi, my name is Noah. I’m four years old and I live with my mummy, daddy and two sisters. I was born just over nine weeks early and spent the first five weeks being looked after by the great people in the special care baby unit. Due to my early arrival I have had a few more challenges than most children my age, however I have done very well in overcoming them. I’m a smart, happy little boy with a great spirit and have lots of love for others. The biggest challenge that I face now in my everyday life is living with a condition called Cerebral Palsy, which causes spasticity in my legs that can be uncomfortable and makes balancing and getting around hard for me.

My daddy and I work hard every day to try and keep the flexibility that I have and to also build up my strength. With concentration and effort I’m proud to say that I can walk small distances with my walking frame, however the doctors believe that as I get older I will lose that ability and have to use my wheel chair all the time. Although I love my cool wheel chair, I really want to be able to walk around as well.

That’s where my great news come in. I have been accepted by a childrens hospital in America to have a potentially life changing operation called Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy (SDR). The operation will permanently remove the tightness in my muscles that is caused by the Cerebral Palsy, instantly make my life more comfortable. As well as that I can expect to have better balance, improvements in my sitting and standing, to be able to move around easier and faster and if I work really hard I might be able to walk. All of these improvements are permanent, so I will benefit from them every single day of my life.

Unfortunately the operation and follow up treatment costs a lot of money, however mummy, daddy and my friends and family are all going to work hard to try and raise the money I need…. If you are able to donate anything to help them, they will forever be grateful…. because they love me with the whole of their hearts.

Thank you

Noah
