Gorgeous George - Little man on a mission

Hello, my name is George Jewell-Hanson. I was born on the 9th July 2012 at 30 weeks gestation weighting only 1kg. I was delivered by emergency C-section due to my Mummy having pre-eclampsia. When I was born I had to be resuscitated and it took 12 minutes until my first heart beat was recorded. I was taken to the neonatal unit and was give lots of drug infusions and was placed on a ventilator. When I was 3 days old I had a massive brain haemorrhage and the doctors didn't think I was going to survive. I proved them wrong.

Slowly I got stronger. I came of the ventilator and went on to CPAP and then nasal prong oxygen. At 12 weeks old I was allowed to go home with my Mummy and Daddy. I had to stay on oxygen until I was 10 months old.

The doctors have recently told us that I have a condition called Cerebral Palsy. This affects my movement, posture and coordination. I have difficulties sitting up on my own and I can't crawl or walk yet. My family and friends are helping me raise money so I can go and see special therapists who will help me to be able to do these things.

Our target is to raise £10,000

Should we exceed the target amount (or if we do not raise enough funds, or if they cannot be used for any other reason) the funds raised will go to the general funds of Tree of Hope to assist other sick children.

Thank you

Love

George
