Danceathon for Louis

A sponsored danceathon by Jewel Performing Arts last week is set to raise more than £8,000 towards the care of 3-year old Louis Bishop from Crowborough.

Students, including Louis’ older sister Evie, danced for 2½ hours at High Hurstwood Village Hall on Saturday afternoon (25th April).

On the day £700 was taken at the cake stall, raffle & Bouncy Castle.  Barclays Bank have donated £1,000.  Once the dancers have collected the money pledged to them in sponsorship the total is likely to top £8,000.

Louis Bishop suffered brain damage during pregnancy and has been diagnosed with cerebral palsy affecting both his legs and arms.  The money from the danceathon will go towards the intensive physiotherapy he needs to stay healthy.  Louis is unable to walk and as he gets older he will require lots of specialist equipment to be able to progress.
